2. Running back depth

With Le’Veon Bell still a no show at training camp and James Connor nursing a minor shoulder injury, Fitzgerald Toussaint, Knile Davis, Terrell Watson, and Trey Williams will be the four guys to keep an eye on at running back. Knile Davis was brought onto the squad in free agency and has spent most of camp being worked out as a kick returner while offering some short situational running ability. The veteran Fitzgerald Toussaint is currently the number one back on the depth chart and hopes to fend off the rest of the bunch to be the third string running back when the season starts.

My sleeper here is Trey Williams. When I was watching practice, Williams put his agility and speed on full display. He has great quickness and lateral movement that should help him stand out vs those second and third team defenders. Since he’ll most likely sit out tonight with a hamstring injury, hopefully, he gets some first team reps throughout the preseason to help prove himself.
