Scoping the internet, checking Monday morning articles for all 32 teams, something stood out – the Pittsburgh Steelers have the best team in football.

You check sites like The Landry Hat, Niner Noise, Predominantly Orange, and any other team site and you’ll notice a trend; writers are explaining what needs to be fixed with their teams. You check Still Curtain, Steelers.com, Behind the Steel Curtain or any Steelers site and you’ll notice not one time has anyone mentioned how this team can improve.

Even after the Steelers’ Week 3 embarrassment in Chicago, people chalked it up to playing down to the opponent. No one was out there saying the defense needs to get better or that Ben Roethlisberger and Le’Veon Bell are on their way out. All anyone said was, “The Steelers played down to the Bears.”

It’s because Pittsburgh is the best team in the NFL. They may not have the “best” of any particular position, but overall, they’re the best unit in the league from top to bottom.

Le’Veon Bell may have taken a few weeks to start producing anything, but everyone knows that at some point this season we would see No. 26 start to dominate. Ben Roethlisberger is still a little slow, but according to him, he’d rather play it safe this season than cause turnovers and keep games close.

On the defensive side, Pittsburgh’s front seven, when healthy, is arguably the third best in the league. (Behind the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs). Yes, their pass coverage is spotty sometimes, but as the season progresses, no one can argue that Artie Burns, Joe Haden, Sean Davis and Mike Mitchell are not a group of guys who will be able to stop almost anyone in the league.

There are places for improvement, but not significant enough to want to change them. Jesse James isn’t a top 10 tight end in the league, but no one on the team or in the fanbase will ever say they want a different tight end out there in black and yellow.

You even look behind the starting 22. What NFL team can say they have one of the greatest pass rushers ever to play sitting on their bench waiting until closer to the playoffs, so he doesn’t wear himself out? Plus, on top of it, they have guys like Anthony Chickillo off the bench to produce solid numbers when called upon.

Don’t believe it if you will, but the Pittsburgh Steelers have the best overall team in football. Maybe they haven’t played like the superstar AFC studs they can be, but as the season progresses so will they.

Just remember, even when they don’t play up to par, no one is looking to make changes. That’s a clear sign that despite only a 3-1 record with room for improvement, everyone knows this team has almost no holes to fill.
