Pittsburgh Steelers: Possible landing spots for Martavis Bryant
By Edward Hunt
Martavis Bryant has asked to be traded and although I don’t think he should be traded and the Pittsburgh Steelers have said he isn’t available for trade here are some possible landing spots for him.
New York Giants
The Giants have been a natural trading partner for the Steelers over the last couple of years. Their owners are both historic in the NFL and even are related by marriage. See the movie “Girl with a Dragon Tattoo” with Patricia Rooney Mara. Rooney is the Steelers owner and Mara is the Giants owners. The Steelers have traded Brad Wing and Ross Cockrell there; so, it is likely that the two are familiar with trade talks.
The Giants are desperate for any weapons on offense. They lost Odell Beckham Jr to a season-ending injury and now have little weapons for Eli Manning. Martavis Bryant would give the Giants a deep threat and some excitement on offense.
Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts brought Martavis Bryant in for a visit for the 2014 draft. This shows that they have a least some interest in him. Although the Steelers may not want to help their AFC opponent, the Colts may have something to offer the Steelers. TY Hilton is the star receiver in Indianapolis, but the Colts would like a secondary option besides Donte Moncrief. Bryant would be able to help the Colts get over the hump and win the NFC South.
Detriot Lions
I know the Steelers play the Lions this week, but they still could be suitors for Martavis Bryant. They brought him in for a pre-draft visit and were probably thinking of drafting him. The Lions lack a clear-cut receiving weapon and Martavis Bryant could be that weapon. Also, the Lions and the Steelers seem to like similar players.
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers also showed interest in Martavis Bryant before the draft. The Steelers may be willing to deal him to San Francisco because they are in a different conference. The 49ers are not playing well and need to shake things up with a new GM. They do have some decent receivers, but they lack that stud game changer on offense. Martavis Bryant could be exactly that.

Buffalo Bills
The Bills are off to a good season and would love to challenge the Patriots for an AFC East title. The biggest weakness for the Bills is that they don’t have that go-to outside receiver. They lost their deep threat when they got rid of Sammy Watkins. Martavis Bryant could fill that void.
