Pittsburgh Steelers: JuJu Smith-Schuster finally gets driver’s license
Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver, JuJu Smith-Schuster, achieved more than most his age, but still needed to overcome one more obstacle before his rookie year was complete.
At 20-years-old, most people have a driver’s license, but for the rookie wideout, he never found the need. Riding his bike to and from practice each day became a Pittsburgh storyline on it’s own as most of the city grew to fall in love with the bike.
After a short-lived incident where a left stole the bike outside of practice, because we all know NFL players can’t afford bike locks, it became apparent that it was time for Smith-Schuster to accomplish his next big task – a driver’s license.
Well, with a humorous post on Instagram, the 20-year-old receiver made it known that it’s time to hang up the bike because he’s a licensed driver.
Not how most people spend their bye week, but for Smith-Schuster, this is a huge accomplishment. Maybe he finally decided it was time to start driving to practice, or maybe he just didn’t want to spend the extra money on a bike lock… or maybe someone told him about Pittsburgh winters.
Either way, the rookie can finally drive and all of Steelers Nation is excited. Entering Week 10, they’ll be hoping the change in routine doesn’t effect his play on the field. With Martavis Bryant still uncertain of his role, Pittsburgh is still expecting Smith-Schuster to be a pivotal part of this offense.
