The Pittsburgh Steelers have called up Cameron Sutton from injured reserve.

After 11 weeks, the Pittsburgh Steelers have activated rookie cornerback, Cameron Sutton, from the IR, according to the team. The third-round 2017 NFL Draft pick was placed on IR back in the preseason when he re-injured a hamstring injury in the team’s final exhibition game.

Sutton is looked at as one of the more exciting young inside corners in the league. Coming out of Tennesee, Sutton put up 127 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and seven interceptions with the Vols.

Now, he’s hoping to make his NFL debut with the Steelers in relief of Joe Haden’s injury. Although Coty Sensabaugh is still going to man the outside, it’s likely Pittsburgh uses Sutton to share the workload with players like Sensabaugh and Mike Hilton.

"“The expectation is still the same,” Sutton told Steelers media. “My approach every day is still the same. Even though I was out, I was still coming to everything, still doing everything. Now it’s just going back out there and doing what I love to do.”"

Sutton is expected to get back into playing shape during practice before stepping on the field. While the Green Bay Packers are much more explosive throwing instead of rushing, without Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh may not need to bring all the cards to the table.

It’s still a transition for the rookie corner, but with every game, he’ll work his way into becoming a prominent part of this secondary.
