Pittsburgh Steelers: Can Antonio Brown finish the greatest WR ever?
By Chris Rice
The Difference Maker
Now let’s start talking about why Antonio Brown will finish his career as a top 3 wide receiver when he retires.
Currently, Antonio Brown is 29 years old, and only has 13,328 less yards than Jerry Rice, and Jerry Rice retired when he was 42 years old. This gives Brown 13 more years to catch up to him in stats. In the first five years of both Jerry Rice, and Antonio Brown’s careers, Antonio Brown has 36 more yards, and 27 more receptions, but 12 less touchdowns.
In the first eight years of both Rice and Brown’s careers, Brown is worse by a bit in every statistics besides both yards per game, and receptions per game. But wait! Brown is only worse than Jerry Rice in the total stats, but not the average game stats. What a coincidence, right? At the eighth season mark, Brown not only played 13 games less than Rice, but started 27 games less than him as well. So what you’re saying is Brown barely trails Jerry Rice in total stats, such as yards and touchdowns, but has not even come close to as many starts as Rice? That’s right!
