Pittsburgh Steelers: Joe Haden hopeful about return
After suffering a fractured fibula against the Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback, Joe Haden is fighting a constant battle to return to the field in 2017.
It hasn’t been easy and won’t get any easier for Joe Haden as he tries to rebound from a fractured fibula. The newest member of the Pittsburgh Steelers defense was becoming one of the best before he suffered what some believed was a season-ending injury in Indianapolis.
Now, Haden fights every day through the recovery process to return to the field. The team expects their corner to be back on the field by the end of the regular season, but for right now, they remain cautious as Haden goes through rehab.
Haden, on the other hand, is hoping to get back on the field as soon as possible. He isn’t rushing his recovery, and with Pittsburgh’s chances at a Super Bowl run high, he’s taking the smart approach about his return. However, he’s still staying hopeful week after week that he’ll get back on the field sooner rather than later.
"“I don’t know as far as the timetable goes, I’m just doing whatever they tell me to do,” Haden told Ray Fittipaldo of the Post-Gazette. “I’m just doing the protocol. Right now I’m riding the bike and the treadmill in the pool. That’s as far as I’m going right now.”"
Haden isn’t likely to return until at least Week 15 against the Patriots. Even if he isn’t good to go by then, he could sit out until the postseason and not return until the Steelers’ divisional round matchup.
There’s still a lot of time left before Haden makes his return to the field. Right now, he’s just focused on getting back to full health.
Next: The Steelers have been thinking of Patriots
Coty Sensabaugh has done a fine job thus far in replacing Haden, but for the Steelers and their fans, getting Haden back on the field is what everyone is waiting for.
