There’s no secret the Pittsburgh Steelers have the best fans in the world.

Sundays in Pittsburgh are a different world. Fans from all across the country come in their black and gold ready to stand in the snow, cheering on the greatest football team in the world.

From the “but we have six rings,” fans to the die-hards who can name every player to wear the jersey, there’s not better group of people than those who rep the Steel City.

FanSided.com released their Fandom 250 each year, and finally, the Steelers got the recognition they deserve. According to the list, the Pittsburgh Steelers are the ninth best fanbase in the world, and the top NFL fanbase in the league.

"There are no fans like Pittsburgh Steelers’ fans. Swarming the stands in a sea of yellow and black, a horde of football fanatics who all believe in one thing; the Steelers. Pittsburgh fans use their iconic symbol, the Terrible Towel, to prove their fandom in rain, sleet or snow… and most times it’s snow. With six Super Bowls under their belt, there isn’t a fan in Pittsburgh who won’t let you know who owns the NFL. Lovers of freezing tailgates and shirtless January games, Steelers fans embrace the environment given to them. From players like Terry Bradshaw to Antonio Brown, these fans have stood behind some of the NFL’s greatest. Steelers fans are known to stick to their team without dealing with nonsense. If a player is putting himself before the team, this fanbase is never shy to make their opinion on the matter known. As the team tries to return to the Super Bowl before quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement, fans are sitting back enjoying and rooting on every second of this season. With uncertainty ahead for the Steelers, no one should expect Pittsburgh fans to take time off. The Steelers have become one of the most dominant teams at home and the fans have played no small part in that advantage. The electricity coming from their cheers makes this team nearly unstoppable at Heinz Field. Without the energy, there’s no doubt this team wouldn’t be the same but, because of these passionate fans, Pittsburgh continues to reign as one of the NFL’s best."

Walk around the city on a Sunday and you’ll know immediately. There’s nothing better than being a Steelers fan. These people dedicate their lives to the sport and never miss a game. Whether they’re sitting in the stands or on their couch 10 states away, these people are the most passionate humans in the world.

Whether you’re a Hall of Famer or backup, these fans will forever have your back. But at the same time, Pittsburgh fans will never shy away from making their opinions known. If you screw up, these people will make sure you know you did, and if you didn’t they’ll praise you until they’re blue in the face.

These people will come shirtless in 20 degree weather with a wind chill that’ll pierce the skin. But for Steelers fans, snow, wind, and freezing temperatures is just an excuse to buy an extra large jersey and toss it over a sweatshirt, because nothing stops these fans from coming out.

There’s nothing like it in the world. Being a Steelers fan is a religion. Repping the black and gold is something you have in your blood, and come Sunday’s, it’s the ONLY thing that matters.

Congratulations, Steelers fans, you’ve proven once again that there’s nothing quiet like painting your face, waiving that terrible towel, and letting the world know you root for the greatest team in the world.
