James Harrison takes to Instagram to make statement on Pittsburgh Steelers
It’s no secret there’s tension between James Harrison and the Pittsburgh Steelers following his signing with the New England Patriots.
Almost the entire Pittsburgh Steelers team made their feelings known after James Harrison signed a deal with the New England Patriots. After being released by the Steelers last week, it took less than a week before 39-year-old Harrison was in a different uniform. The only issue, it was a New England Patriots one.
For years, the only thing standing in the Steelers’ way of a Super Bowl has been the Patriots. It’s no secret this has caused a ton of tension between the two. Now, only a week before the playoffs, with the Steelers and New England sitting first and second in the AFC, the Pats added a huge boost both on and off the field.
So, after plenty of Steelers players spoke their mind to the media, Harrison let his words out on social media.
Harrison’s role in New England has yet to be determined. The Patriots need to beat the New York Jets in Week 17 to claim homefield advantage in the AFC. It’ll also be the first chance Harrison gets to make a name for himself in a new uniform.
Clearly, Harrison isn’t looking for a bench role with any team. So, it might be safe to say that No. 92 could see plenty of playing time in his first game with the Patriots.
This story isn’t close to over. The Steelers and Patriots are the favorites to meet for the second consecutive year in the AFC Championship. When Harrison lines up across from his former teammates, there’s going to be some heated emotions on both sides of the ball.
