The second unsung hero of the year is offensive lineman Chris Hubbard. His versatility along the offensive line has given the Steelers much-needed confidence in him.
Hubbard has started more games than the normal starter Marcus Gilbert in 2017. Whether it be from injury like it was earlier in the year or from a four-week suspension, Hubbard stepped in beautifully to keep the line rolling.

Hubbard often confused fans over the last couple years about how he kept his 53-man spot. Now those fans know what all of us who wanted him kept do and that is he can play and play well when called on.
Hubbard did not have such a great showing at center against Cleveland filling in for injured teammate B.J. Finney. However, he was the third string center and the emergency one at that and once you are down that far, it probably won’t end well.
Hubbard has definitely shown he has starting potential in the NFL. Hopefully the Steelers keep him or he will get attention from teams in need of line help.
