Last but not least, our last unsung hero of 2017 is corner back Mike Hilton. Hilton enjoyed an exceptional and surprising season in Pittsburgh.

In his first year on an active roster, Hilton blazed on the scene and earned his starting nickel spot in the Steeler secondary. There he enjoyed being a new fan favorite in the Steel City.

He managed to become on of the better blitzing corners in the league this season nabbing himself four sacks on the year. Although three came in the same game, Hilton generated plenty of pressure off the edge to rattle the quarterbacks even if he did not get the sack.

Hilton also compiled 54 total tackles, six passes defensed, two interceptions and a forced fumble. Hilton became a good coverage corner from the slot and an even better blitzer and run supporter.

His ability to tackle and do it well at just 5’9″ 185 pounds is astounding. He fits right in with the mold of a Steeler nickel corner much like William Gay in his younger years.
