Recall those 5 interceptions. It’s not that Ben or the Steelers simply had a bad day. The reason for all those interceptions is just as much the Jaguars defense. Their pass defense is good. They lead the league in pass defense in fact. During the regular season they allowed 170 yards passing per game. They had 21 interceptions this season, second in the league.

They were also second in sacks (just behind the Steelers). So protecting the ball in this instance also counts for when Ben is holding it. Offensive mistakes have to be at a minimum. With 33 takeaways this season, the Jaguars cannot be taken lightly in that regard. The Steelers have a great pass offense and are good at protecting the ball, but the Jags are the ultimate test of a pass offense so Pittsburgh has to avoid mistakes.
