Round 7, Pick 2 (220 overall) – OL Will Clapp, LSU

The Steelers lost a very key part to their offensive line in free agency. Versatile lineman Chris Hubbard left the team for the Cleveland Browns and an opportunity to start every game.

Hubbard provided quality depth at a position that has seen its share of injuries over the years. He stepped in for 10 games through Marcus Gilbert’s injury and suspension.

With him gone, Pittsburgh needs to address some depth issues along the line. William Clapp fits this mold perfectly.

Clapp can play center or guard along the line which is exactly what the team needs. With B.J. Finney and Jerald Hawkins in line for the two backups in the 2018 season, Clapp can offer that third bit of depth the team is looking for.

Clapp could slide out to tackle if need be but provides the best depth on the interior. His work ethic will earn him a spot in Pittsburgh if he goes to them in a couple of weeks.
