Round 7, Pick 220: Greg Gilmore, DL LSU

The Steelers like to pull from their pre-draft visit list more than once in their drafting. Gilmore visited the Steelers a couple of weeks ago.

Gilmore only started the last two years at LSU but he was productive in his time as a starter. He registered 87 tackles and 8.5 sacks in 2016 and 2017 along with two passes broken up.

The Steelers need to continue to build rotational depth in their defensive line to keep their three starters fresh. Gilmore would fit best in a 3-4 and could play interior or outside defensive line. This versatility gets him drafted here as opposed to going into the priority undrafted free agents pool.
