The 2018 NFL Draft is behind us, and the Pittsburgh Steelers bulked in a lot of position. Meaning someone is going to lose their roster spot by August.

J.J. Wilcox has already felt the rather of rookies heading to Pittsburgh. The veteran safety barely lasted 24 hours after the draft. But the Steelers decision to draft two players of the same position meant there wasn’t room for everyone, and Wilcox was the first to go.

This is only the beginning. As camp gets on its way, and Pittsburgh sees the talent of their drafted and undrafted rookies, they’ll begin to make roster moves. Aging veterans, unmet potential and roster fillers will begin to see the door as the final 53-man roster is formed.

The Steelers’ rookie class is one of the NFL’s best. Despite many believing they missed their shot at replacing Ryan Shazier, they did come away with a large amount of talent at other positions.

With nearly two dozen rookies heading to camp this summer, the Steelers are going to have to make roster moves. Looking through the talent this draft class offered, it’s easy to say that there could be a handful of young guys taking over spots of veterans in 2018.
