Bud Dupree

We’ve been talking about Bud Dupree improving for years now. Every time he looks promising he either gets hurt or has a year like last season. 2017 was not a good time for the outside linebacker, and despite picking up his fifth-year option, Pittsburgh isn’t sold on the edge rusher.

Dupree is likely on his last tryout with the Steelers. This team has invested four years into the linebacker and has yet to see the upside he came into the league with. Without more impact in the pass rush, Dupree’s career in Pittsburgh won’t get to see the fifth season.

Maybe a change from left to right side will help his success. But right now, he’s working with T.J. Watt, who is already showing superstar potential. If Dupree doesn’t want to be overshadowed, he needs to make his presence felt this season, fast.
