Alan Faneca

Alan Faneca is just like Ward, waiting to be called for his place in Canton. It won’t happen this year, but while he waits for his gold jacket, he’ll get his name placed into Pittsburgh Hall of Honor.

People still remember his block that gave Willie Parker the opening for his record-setting 75-yard touchdown run in Super Bowl XL. Add seven Pro Bowls in his final seven seasons and his name will be known as a Pittsburgh legend for all of time.

Faneca will earn his place in the Hall of Honor this year. He’s likely to be one of the first called, and rightfully so. Next, he just needs to be given his place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, to finish his career right.
