Everyone remembers Joe Greene and Jack Lambert, but every part of the Steel Curtain made Pittsburgh’s defense as unstoppable as it once was. Playing defensive end for the greatest defense to step on grass – L.C. Greenwood.

It’s hard to forget about a player who had as much of an impact on a team as Greenwood did. He may not come up in conversation to today’s generation, but looking back, there weren’t many players on the roster who created as much chaos for opposing quarterbacks as No. 68.

During his time with the Steelers, throughout their four Super Bowl runs, Greenwood led the team in sacks six times, including five sacks in four Super Bowls. Including four of Roger Staubach in Super Bowl X.

If it wasn’t for an overabundance of notable talent throughout the team’s history, Greenwood is a top-10 player in most NFL franchises’ histories. But nevertheless, this defensive end is going to live on forever. And for those who got to witness his play, he’ll be known as a player who created the Steel Curtain just as much as the rest of them.
