55. . MLB. (1974-84). Jack Lambert. 7. player

When people think of the Steel Curtain they think of Jack Lambert. The middle linebacker was the heart and soul of the Steelers defense during the ’70s. Amongst the great defensive linemen and linebackers he played with, constantly, his name would be the first to be mentioned.

It’s because Lambert played and originated Steeler football. Whenever you think of hard-nosed, hit him in the jaw football, you think of the Steel Curtain. Whenever you think of the Steel Curtain, you think of Lambert.

The man did it all. Along with being one of the scariest people in the sport, he also racked up 28 career interceptions and earned two NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards.

He’s probably the most intimidating football player of all-time. He’s the cornerstone of Steelers defenses. Meaning there’s no way you keep Lambert out of your greatest Steelers of all-time.
