In the list of legendary Steelers centers, Dermontti Dawson ranks second. Unlike most Pittsburgh greats, Dawson never found his way to a Super Bowl ring. Despite not belonging to one of the six Lombardis, though, the center was known as one of the best at his position.
It took no time for Dawson to make his name known in Pittsburgh. Earning seven-consecutive Pro Bowls following his rookie season, Dawson became a household name throughout the NFL.
