The Still Curtain Podcast breaks down everything the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2018 rookie class has to offer, and what their expectations should be this season.

Training Camp is right around the corner, the Pittsburgh Steelers are just about done adding talent and this team is ready to put the finishing touches on their 2018 roster. But they aren’t doing anything this season without the help of their rookies.

The youngsters on this team aren’t who many expected. Outside of Mason Rudolph, many can say they didn’t see any of the team’s seven draft picks coming. From start to finish, though, this rookie class can make an immediate impact.

Check out Episode 13:

Many didn’t believe Terrell Edmunds was worth of a first-round pick. Even at 28, many said the Steelers reached to draft the Virginia Tech safety. Marcus Allen, on the other hand, is considered a steal. The fifth-round pick is going to see playing time right from the start.

On offense, Jaylen Samuels and James Washington are both hoping to see an extended role in year one. Washington is a given. After trading Martavis Bryant, the second-year player is going to see the starting lineup all season. Samuels is hit or miss. His impact may even be less than third-round pick, Chuk Okorafor.

Then, there are the wild cards. Guys like Mason Rudolph and Joshua Frazier. These two either have some influence on the team, none, or all. This comes down to the people in front of them, and the ones they’re competing for a roster spot with.

The entire class is looking at some role on this team. For seven guys people have their doubts about, the Steelers’ season is relying heavily on all of them.
