The Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Honor, starting in 2017, has announced its 2018 class.
This newly created distinction of recognizing individuals who have “contributed greatly to the history of the franchise.” The Steelers has announced its group of inductees for the second year.
Starting last year the Hall of Honor will serve as a “tribute” to the many individuals that helped make the Steelers the 6 time Super Bowl champions. Each nominee will receive a “solid steel football that replicates the original given to Steelers founder Art Rooney Sr. by the United States Steel Corporation and the United Steelworkers in 1982” (Steelers.com) and a plaque displayed in the Heinz Field Fedex Great Hall.

Bill Nunn
- 1970-1987 Assistant Personnel Director
- 1987-2014 Pittsburgh Steelers Scout
Art Rooney Jr.
- Longtime Personnel Director
- Helped oversee many NFL drafts including 1974 class that included 4 future hall of famers
Buddy Dial, WR
- 1st player in Steelers history to post a 1000 yard season
- 21.6 yard receiving average best in Steelers history
Rocky Bleier, RB
- Awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart in the Vietnam War
- 16 round draft pick, 12 seasons in Pittsburgh
Alan Faneca, Guard
- Played 10 seasons in Pittsburgh
- 7 straight pro bowls
- 1st team All Pro 6 times
The induction ceremony will be held Friday, September 28th the weekend the Steelers host the Ravens at Heinz field. The selection committee consists of Steelers President Art Rooney II, Joe Gordon, Bob Labriola, Stan Savran, Andrew Stockey and Tony Quatrini.
The inaugural class of 2017 included individuals and some of the most celebrated Hall of Fame players in Steelers history; Jerome Bettis, Mel Blount, Terry Bradshaw, Jack Butler, Dermontti Dawson, Bill Dudley, Joe Greene, Kevin Greene, L.C. Greenwood, Jack Ham, Franco Harris, Dick Hoak, John Henry Johnson, Walt Keisling, Jack Lambert, Bobby Layne, John McNally, Chuck Noll, Arthur J. Rooney, Sr., Daniel M. Rooney, Andy Russell, Donnie Shell, John Stallworth, Ernie Stautner, Lynn Swann, Mike Webster, and Rod Woodson.
The Hall of Honor is befitting of all these amazing people and a true representation of the hard work and dedication of the Steelers franchise.
