The Pittsburgh Steelers started the preseason on a hot note, and plenty of players made their case for the 53-man roster.

three touchdowns, three turnovers and 346 total yards – not too shabby for the kings of the AFC North. A match up against the defending Super Bowl champions provided the perfect stage for players on the depth chart to find the spotlight.

Amidst a quarterback battle, nerves surrounding the defense and the pressure of being a top 10 team, Pittsburgh thrived and came out with a victory. For the first preseason game of the season, it was pretty entertaining. The game featured deep throws, big plays, turnovers, great young talent and a glimpse into the exciting season that lies ahead.

With Week 1 now behind us, the pressure is on for the front offices of the league to trim their rosters and finalize a 53-man team. So which Steelers players actually took advantage of opening night and left everything out on the field? Let’s find out.
