Is Damoun Patterson real?

Damoun Patterson is the talk of the town following his NFL debut. The undrafted rookie lit up the Eagle’s secondary, and had the most memorable touchdown grab of Week 1.

His six receptions for 77 yards and a score led the Steelers wide receiving core. A player who was extremely unknown coming into the offseason is now a dark horse to make this roster. A roster full of wide receiver talent.

People are saying he actually has a shot. A Youngstown State alum who’s as quick as they come and uses the chip on his shoulder to make plays. Something Pittsburgh has seen before, most recently in a player who’s now consider the best wide receiver in football.

He needs to follow up on his Week 1 performance, though. Justin Hunter and Darrius Heyward-Bey did absolutely nothing against Philadelphia. This leaves the door wide open for Patterson to push someone out of a roster spot.

All eyes will be on No. 83. Another strong performance and talk of him making the team will begin to sound more realistic.
