One of the ILBs play well

All offseason it’s been a back-and-forth battle between Tyler Matakevich and Jon Bostic. Neither way the next Ryan Shazier, but there was enough fight to see that one of them could provide quality play alongside Vince Williams.

Well, in Week 1 all we saw was missed tackles and a lack of confidence. These two need to improve after a poor debut. If they don’t, fans are going to be asking that Pittsburgh signs another inside linebacker before the regular season.

If you’re going to put faith in two guys to compete for the starting job, you need to make sure they’re deserving of the role. So far, neither of these two earned anything in the preseason.

One of them need to step up in Green Bay. If they don’t, the Steelers’ biggest weakness is going to come at inside linebacker, and last season proved how much of an impact that has on the defense overall.
