The “Turk”

All of the players understand the “end game” or what is at stake based strictly on their performances and know they must challenge themselves above anything else. Players are sitting in their rooms praying they don’t get that knock at the door asking them to bring their playbooks. Steeler Camp, practices and preseason games all are on their minds as they do an internal assessment of their chances to make the team. The quietness of the dorms are like crickets except those dreadful knocks that signal the end to some players time with the team. The anxiety levels are off of the charts  with so much at stake, but the “Turk” comes but once a year. Avoid the “Turk”, you have to ball out.
