The Pittsburgh Steelers are finalizing a deal with the Oakland Raiders, in which they will receive Ryan Switzer.

According to Jordan Schultz, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Oakland Raiders are about to finalize a trade that will send wide receiver, Ryan Switzer, to Pittsburgh. It has not been confirmed what the Steelers are sending in return.

This comes as a surprise to many, as the details of this trade seemed to come out of no where.  Reported by Schultz and confirmed by Ian Rapaport, news has just broke that these two teams were discussing any movement in the AFC.

Switzer is entering his second NFL season after spending his rookie campaign with the Dallas Cowboys. He was moved to Oakland earlier this offseason, and is now looking to spend his sophomore season in Pittsburgh.

This could be a solid move for the Steelers. Switzer is a remarkable return option and could be the fourth wide receiver to stay in Pittsburgh. This may mean the end of Eli Rogers and Justin Hunter, but could also remove Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster from punt return duty.

It’s an interesting move to say the least. Not many people saw this coming, but it could be a move that satisfies the Steelers’ final offensive needs. Depending on what they send to Oakland, this should be a boost for the overall productivity of Pittsburgh.

More details are to come on this situation, and the Still Curtain will provide all coverage of the Oakland, Pittsburgh trade. It can’t be expected that much is being sent from Pittsburgh’s end, but for a young player with plenty of potential, the Steelers may be willing to give up a valuable draft pick.
