Tyler Matakevich

Right now, Tyler Matakevich shouldn’t make the regular season roster. He’s been the team’s biggest disappointment of the preseason, ahead of Jon Bostic. The two have played so poorly that fans are beginning to feel more comfortable with Matthew Thomas as the starter.

Matakevich doesn’t need to play well to keep himself in the running for the starting job, but keep himself on the team. At this point, the Steelers won’t even keep him around if he doesn’t prove himself this week.

He’s gone from possible starter to do-or-die player. Week 4 is his last chance to make the regular season roster. He can’t afford to be average, but someone who’s a star against the Panthers.
