The 2018 offseason is over, but it’s never too early to be scouting for next year. The Pittsburgh Steelers will be watching these positions on Saturdays, this season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have wrapped up the end of their preseason and head into the regular season a contender in the NFL. Now is a time to scout players who might be fits for the Steelers now that the college football season is starting. Here are some positions and maybe players to look at on Saturdays.

Mack Linebacker

The Steelers have a need for a mack linebacker to replace Ryan Shazier. Tyler Matakevich has shown this preseason that he is not a starter in this league yet. Now the Steelers turn to Jon Bostic, the journeyman, to play the mack linebacker position. ILB was a priority heading into this draft, but a good fit never fell to the Steelers. There were reports that the Steelers were going to trade up for Rashaan Evans.

A player to watch this season is Clemson’s Tre Lamar. He has a lot of athleticism and that is a trait that will endear him to the Steelers. The Steelers like to take athletes and mold them into football players. He could be available even if the Steelers pick late in the first round.
