The wait is finally over. After a painfully long off-season, there is football to be played. The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Cleveland to take on the Cleveland Browns in the opening week of play in the NFL.
Many of you reading this are well-versed on the Steelers and their ways. You know the players, coaches, and good/bad of the overall team, but what about the opponent? To defeat ones opponent, one must know their opponent. That’s precisely where I step in. You are reading version one of a series of articles that will highlight the Steelers opponent that week, and by the end of your reading, you might just feel as if you’re ready to coach against them.
With Hue Jackson’s coaching record (1-31 the last two seasons), my previous statement might be taken serious. However, this is a completely new ball club that looks to finally right the ship after a long losing spell in Cleveland. The Browns bolstered their front office after the hiring of General Manager John Dorsey in December of 2017, with other highly regarded signings as well.
Cleveland is coming off an off-season where they acquired talent all over the depth chart, but fans will noticeably recognize quarterback Tyrod Taylor and receiver Jarvis Landry as fresh faces in the line-up. With new talent both upstairs and on the field, 2018 may very well be the year the Browns turn the tide for the better.
