The Pittsburgh Steelers tied the Cleveland Browns, and no matter how emotionally numb you are from Week 1, we need to talk about it.
By no means did anyone expect this to happen. Coming into Week 1, people are skeptical, some are positive and some are just looking for a good game. No one was thinking, looking for, or expecting this.
The offense looked good, and without Ben Roethlisberger’s three interceptions, the team is 1-0 heading into Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs. But poor weather conditions and some terrible late-game play and now everyone is sitting around trying to wrap their heads around what just happened.
Check out Ep. 20:
Next week will be different. The Chiefs are in Pittsburgh, and the Steelers won’t need to worry about whatever happened in Week 1. They’ll be hoping James Conner continues to run the way he did in Cleveland, and if JuJu Smith-Schuster and Antonio Brown can be this dangerous all season, no secondary will stop them.
The season is long, and despite what the Steelers’ record says, they’re still an AFC favorite. None of this is taken away with a sloppy performance at the end of Week 1.
The offense is sharp, the defense looks scary good and Ben Roethlisberger isn’t going to throw three interceptions each week. So, stay calm, enjoy the week and try to get your mind off being 0-0-1.
15 games remain and eventually the numbness of this week will fade. The record will become funnier and tying the Browns will quickly become a joke. But until that happens, don’t overreact. There’s time to change, and things will change. Trust us.
