Key Matchups

Mahomes vs. Steelers secondary

This game is going to be an aerial circus because one team will get up big and the other team will have to go to the air to battle back. Getting people on the ground will be of paramount importance for the secondary because of a lot of short to intermediate routes that the Chiefs like to run.

Yards after the catch is how they make their bed and if your not tackling, you will be caught sleeping. I anticipate the Steelers jumping out to a big lead forcing the Chiefs to the air and subsequently, possible mistakes for multiple interceptions.

Tyreek Hill vs. Anybody

Whatever position he lines up, if at least three sets of pupils are not on him, head for the turnstiles because this is going to get ugly real fast. You got him doing kick returns, punt returns, onside kick returns, wide receivers spots (X,Y, and slot) and he might run some “Wildcat” offense before halftime. He is definitely danger but no stranger that has to be accounted for every moment he is on the field.

AB vs. Anybody

Their secondary had issues with much lesser receivers then AB who has always broken the hearts of the Chiefs over the years. They tried to use three people to watch him, the first one was man to man, the second one in an over the top zone and the third one was a guy running out of the stands to tackle him; it still didn’t work. This is going to be one of his classic games where it doesn’t matter what they will try to do…business will be boomin!

Chiefs defensive line vs. Steelers offensive line

Big Bens wall of steel will have to do a better job of pass protection then they did last week. At times they looked like they were matadors at a bullfight, okay. If they can keep Big Ben reasonably clean combined with Fichtner’s quick pass play calling; they can cook up a chefs meal that will have the Chiefs choking on points.
