The defense of the Pittsburgh Steelers is worse than they’ve been in years, and they shouldn’t be.

The season isn’t over yet. In fact, two weeks into the season, the Steelers are still somewhat okay in the eyes of the AFC. They need to start winning, but 0-1-1 isn’t going to end your season.

The problems are easy to see. The offensive line is off-and-on, the defense is a mess and the coaching is getting worse as the weeks go on. The talent is still there, and the will is no where near gone.

But changes need to be made. Pittsburgh isn’t firing anyone, right now, but they can make roster changes that can benefit this team. Both of these sit within the defense, both at one position.

There are more concerns than one position, but the defense is the place to start making adjustments. You need to start somewhere if you’re going to change the outcome of these games, and the Steelers should be starting here – at inside linebacker.

Jon Bostic isn’t playing terribly, but he leaves wholes the secondary isn’t good enough to cover up. It isn’t his fault, but this team needs change, and it should start with Bostic.
