The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off their first win of the season. The next opponent on the schedule is never easy, as they welcome the rival Baltimore Ravens to Heinz Field for Sunday Night Football.

The Steelers have slowly built momentum on offense, getting more and more efficient every week. The Ravens have a stout defense as always, so this will be a good test for the Steelers’ offense.

The Baltimore Ravens currently are tied atop the AFC North with Cincinnati at 2-1. The Ravens’ only loss is to those Cincinnati Bengals in week two. The demolished Buffalo is week one and defeated Denver at home last week.

The biggest threat for the Steelers this week isn’t just their good defensive unit, but some new weapons on their offense. They have revamped their receiving corps, giving veteran Joe Flacco some new targets to throw to.

These aren’t your same old Ravens.

John Brown

John Brown is just one of Joe Flacco’s new targets to throw the ball to. Brown was brought in as a free agent after four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

Brown and Flacco seem to be connecting quite nicely so far for the Ravens. Brown leads the team in receiving yards with 222, along with two touchdowns as well. They are connecting for good chunks of yardage, as Brown is averaging 18.5 yards-per-catch.

Brown isn’t a big guy and has never overpowered anyone with elite receiving skills, but he’s fast and runs his routes well. He’s seeming to find open space with the plethora of targets in the Baltimore offense now.

There aren’t a lot of guys on this Ravens offense that will make you quiver, but the amount of good talent they have all around is what is potentially scary about them now. John Brown is on of those guys, and he’s reaped the benefits of it early on.

It will be interesting to see if it continues all year long, but as for this week, Brown could see some nice targets. More than likely, veteran cornerback Joe Haden will be on Michael Crabtree all game, so Artie Burns and/or City Sensabaugh will be responsible for Brown. After the game both of those guys had in Tampa Bay, let’s just say Brown could do some damage.
