Sean Davis
Honestly, it was really hard to think of another person that truly stood out Sunday night. But Sean Davis did play a pretty solid game.
Davis made some great open field tackles, didn’t let any receivers get behind him, and was responsible for the biggest play the defense made in the game. Early on, the Steelers looked like they were about to be down 21-3, but as Alex Collins was heading for the goal line, Sean Davis stripped the ball out while Terrell Edmunds recovered the ball on the one-yard line.
The Steelers secondary was short tonight, missing both Mike Hilton and Morgan Burnett. It was nice to see Sean Davis have a solid game.
Overall, Davis has been much better out of the free safety position than he was a season ago playing strong safety. The free safety spot comes much more natural to him and allows him to play in coverage more, which is a bigger strength of his than tackling. Even then, he had six total tackles Sunday night.
