Le’Veon Bell’s return to the Pittsburgh Steelers will make this team better. He’s still a top running back in the NFL, but even if he improves this team, he won’t save everyone.
Bell’s return will improve Pittsburgh. The offense will improve, the running game will improve, oh, and the record will improve. Starting Week 8, this is a different team. But even if the Steelers turn this season around, there are people throughout the orginization who will be replaced.
You can’t save the jobs of everyone. Bell’s impact in Pittsburgh will be felt, even if he’s splitting time with James Conner. The league has seen the effect Bell brings to the team when on the field. Something the Steelers will be hoping is even greater when he returns against the Cleveland Browns.
But at the end of the day, or the season, there will be jobs lost within this team. There is too much going wrong to continue taking chances with some of the players and/or coaches around the locker room.
These moves probably won’t be made until the end of the season. Unless Pittsburgh can make some changes to have replacements ready, they won’t risk getting worse before getting better. Instead, they’ll stick it out and evaluate the issues during the offseason.
So, who’s too hot to be saved? Most likely, nothing will be done this week, or the week after, but by next season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will have a different look.
