Pittsburgh Steelers: 3 jobs that cannot be saved with return of Le’Veon Bell
Joey Porter
Keith Butler’s seat is as hot as it comes, but he likely won’t be the first defensive coach to be fired when it all comes crashing down. Unless the pass rush turns itself around and Jon Bostic finds a way to do something more than stop the run, the first blame will be placed on the linebackers.
Joey Porter may not be to blame. When Bud Dupree and T.J. Watt rush the quarterback, they usually provide solid pressure. But the don’t get enough calls to pass rush, which leaves them stranded in soft edge rushes, and basically removes them from the play.
This isn’t Porter’s fault, but Butler’s. That doesn’t mean anything, though, when this team is looking to put blame on someone. So, Porter will likely take the heat and be looking for a new job next offseason.
