2019 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterbacks begin to make noise early
19. Los Angeles Chargers: Te’von Coney, LB Notre Dame
Last week I mocked Coney to the Steelers, unfortunately, I couldn’t justify him falling that far again. I considered giving the Chargers a quarterback here but instead I went with the ultra-talented Coney. The Chargers have a lot of pieces in place, adding a player like Coney enhances an already strong defensive unit. I think the Chargers could still make a run with Phillip Rivers under center so the addition of Coney makes them even more dangerous.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Mack Wilson, LB Alabama
Every year Alabama produces linebackers and this year is no different. I said earlier that Coney would have been the choice here if he was still available, but Wilson is still a fantastic consolation prize. Wilson is a force in the middle but what I like most about him is his range and playmaking ability, things Ryan Shazier was known for. Wilson is probably not at that incredibly high level but he has racked up 5 interceptions in 2017 and 2018 only five-game into this season. That is elite from the linebacker position. Something that will undoubtedly grab the attention of scouts across the league.
