Joe Haden

For the second week in a row, Joe Haden was tasked with shadowing one of the most talented receivers in the league. He had success against Julio Jones last week, and continued his success against AJ Green this week.

Now, Green did catch seven passes for 85 yards on Sunday, but two of his biggest catches were when the Bengals caught linebackers covering Green out of the slot. When Green was lined up outside, Haden kept Green at bay, and most importantly, kept Green out of the end zone.

The Steelers have long needed a corner that can go one-on-one with the opposing team’s leading receiver and Haden has provided that since his arrival. It was unfortunate that Haden missed a chunk of the season last year, but this year he’s been the very definition of a shut-down corner. It’s also unfortunate his one missed game this season was against Kansas City.

Going forward, there would be no reason to not trust Haden in man coverage. He’s been superb in 2018 and was superb again on Sunday.
