Pittsburgh Steelers: 5 things we learned in Week 6 win over Bengals

The tight end position is as good as it’s been post-Miller
Since Heath Miller retired the tight end position for the Steelers has been almost invisible. It’s been a non factor. It has not been a problem though because every other part of their offense is as good as the league can produce. That said, it can’t hurt to also have great tight end play, and the McDonald/James/Grimble trio has turned into a 3 headed beast this season.
Sunday night they combined for 139 yards of offense. McDonald had 68 yards, Grimble had 35, and James had 26. You can find each of them contributing some solid blocking as well. McDonald, with his brutish athleticism, has been the attention getter but James had 138 yards against the Chiefs a few weeks ago. Grimble is probably the number 3 but he’d be at least a number 2 on a lot of other teams. Each of these players brings something to the table and Randy Fichtner has to be enjoying this little tight end pot luck.
