29. Kansas City Chiefs: Kendall Sheffield, CB Ohio State

The Kansas City Chiefs defense has been bad this season. The secondary is not very good and has issues with injuries as well, starting players that weren’t even on the team for training camp. Taking secondary players early is a must. Kendall Sheffield is a very athletic player. He has elite speed and physical tools. He is also a solid and willing tackler. He needs some refinement of his technique but late in the first round, he’s worth a shot on upside alone.

30. Green Bay Packers (from New Orleans Saints): Deionte Thompson, S Alabama

The Green Bay Packers double down on defense with their second pick going with arguably the best safety in the draft. The Packers have two safeties that they like but Deionte Thompson is too talented to fall any farther. Thompson could play immediately in certain packages before taking over as a full-time starter. The Packers defense needs to add playmakers regardless of position making Thompson a very appealing prospect.
