31. New England Patriots: Jeffery Simmons, DT Mississippi State
New England’s defense has a lot of holes and I don’t consider defensive tackle to be the biggest one. However, the Patriots are known for their draft strategy of selecting the best available player and at this point in the Draft that is Mississippi State’s, Jeffery Simmons. Simmons is a guy that is hurt by the sheer amount of talent on the defensive line in this class. He is a guy that I would expect to go much higher in a normal year but will fall thanks to a loaded class.
32. Los Angeles Rams: Zach Allen, EDGE Boston College
The Rams have a lot of talent but could use more pass rush outside of Aaron Donald. Adding an edge rusher who can get after the quarterback on the outside will make Donald’s job a lot easier and make him and their defense even more deadly. Allen is a talented player and is worth a shot late in the first round for a team that should be in contention for a while with a young quarterback in Jared Goff.
