5. New York Giants: Justin Herbert, QB Oregon

All of the teams selecting before the Giants think they have their franchise quarterback. The Oakland Raiders could take a look at quarterback if their offense continues to struggle, but I think Derek Carr will be given every opportunity to succeed after the trade of Khalil Mack. That means the best quarterback in the draft falls to the Giants again in this mock draft. I am a huge fan of Herbert and I think he has the potential to be better than Eli Manning has been in New York. The Giants have Saquon Barkley to take the pressure off the passing game and plenty of weapons in the passing game including Odell Beckham Jr. making New York an ideal landing spot for a young QB.

6. San Francisco 49ers: Clelin Ferrell, EDGE Clemson

I am tempted to give the 49ers a corner here in Greedy Williams but Ferrell is too good to pass up. San Francisco is only drafting here because of an injury to their starting quarterback, but it does give them the opportunity to draft a potentially dominant pass rusher to upgrade their defense. The team has a lot of talent which makes this pick an opportunity to swing for the fences and select someone who could potentially transform a defense.
