Pittsburgh Steelers: 3 changes you can expect in the second half of the season
Le’Veon Bell, James Conner takeover
Thankfully no one in Pittsburgh is complaining about touches because this offense is about to get another hand to feed. Le’Veon Bell isn’t back yet, but he’s on his way, and the Steelers will need to implement him into the offense.
Expect plenty of two-running back sets in this offense. James Conner will continue to get enough carries to put up big numbers, but there is no way to keep Bell on the bench.
Using both of these backs will take this offense to the next level. Two elite NFL backs who can run and catch makes this backfield unstoppable. Defenses will need to scheme against anything, while trying to figure out how to slow Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Not an easy task.
The sooner Bell comes back the better. It’s going to be confusing for a few weeks, but when they figure out the mix, they’ll be dangerous.
