Still Sloppy

Despite the Steelers recent upturn in their prospects for the season, given where they began the year, we saw again Sunday they’re capable of being a little sloppy. On special teams, we’ve already discussed the recurring issues they’ve had and how Sunday was no exception. They continue to lead the league in penalty yards. In fact, the next seven teams on the list haven’t even had their bye week yet.

There was a fumble that was lost, and two more that weren’t. One was from Conner who seems to lose his grip on the ball more often then you’d hope. There was an interception of course. Then you’ll see an emerging star like Smith-Schuster drop a catchable pass or two every game. On the defensive side the secondary has been improving but there are still blown coverages. It’s time to tighten up a little more now that the team has settled into a No Bell/No Shazier identity.
