Le’Veon Who?

I won’t begrudge Le’Veon trying to get paid. A lot of fans like to point out that players make a lot of money and they should just be satisfied, but they also do all the work. No one tunes in on Sunday to watch Jerry Jones or Robert Kraft or the Rooneys. There’s a lot of money generated by professional football and it’s because of the players. So get your share. Bell’s strategy however, seems to be going poorly. The best case for him would be for the Steelers and Conner to bomb. Bell bet on the Steelers not surviving without him. He lost the bet.

The Steelers have been a team of stars for the past few years. There were a handful of positions where they had the best players in the NFL. Conner has emerged as a great player, and the Bostic/Williams/Fort combo has performed well, but the Steelers have also changed their approach. Their team is not built to lean on a few players anymore.

They are balanced and flexible. Brown, Ben, Smith-Schuster, Conner, Heyward, Watt, and Haden are all performing well, but this is a balanced team that can beat you a lot of ways with a lot of players now. They may end up better off for having to learn to live without Bell.
