Christian McCaffrey

While the Steelers’ boast the 6th-ranked rush defense, a running back as dynamic as McCaffrey is a major threat to the Steelers’ defense.

McCaffrey is the Panthers’ leading back, but is also their second-leading receiver behind Devin Funchess. McCaffrey is arguably the best receiving back in the league at the moment. He runs hard, but his pass-catching ability makes him a dangerous weapon in a Carolina offense that is 2nd in the league in rushing. Obviously, Cam Newton’s ability to run is a big part of that, but McCaffrey cannot be overlooked.

To reiterate about the lack of speed on the Steelers’ defense, while doing everything they can to maintain Cam Newton, they cannot disregard McCaffrey and leave him in open space. They definitely can’t leave him open like they left Lamar Jackson open in the red zone last week. Cam Newton looks for McCaffrey. They can’t get away with that mistake again.
