The Pittsburgh Steelers could use Le’Veon Bell back
The Pittsburgh Steelers are real. As real as they come, to be honest. But they can use a security blanket, and they might get one by Tuesday.
Le’Veon Bell is in Pittsburgh and is most likely going to show up to the team by Wednesday, November 14. If the Steelers win over the Carolina Panthers showed any negatives, it’s that James Conner isn’t superman, and Pittsburgh needs to be prepared for that.
No one wants to think about Conner missing time, but a concussion is serious. A week and a half before their next game, it’s likely he’ll be cleared and ready to go by Week 11, but moving forward, it would be nice to be able to have someone of the same caliber playing behind him.
That’s where Le’Veon Bell’s return comes in. The fans don’t want him, the team can really care less if he’s there, but if something happens to Conner, everyone will be happy he finally showed up.
It comes down to this – the Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the NFL’s best teams. Thursday night proved they have come a long way since the beginning of the season. Right now, it’s hard to say any team in the league can beat them. At bare minimum, you can say they’d stand toe-to-toe with all 32 NFL teams.
So, at the end of the day, they don’t want to screw that up. This team is rolling, but if something happens to James Conner, they’ve take a huge step back – one that they’ve seen before and has cost them a chance at a Super Bowl.
If Bell is sitting on the bench, they have the safety blanket just in case. He doesn’t need to come in and split carries, but he is a worst case scenario, and one that can still keep this team as dominant as they are.
A safety blanket is not a bad thing. It could end up saving this team is something drastic were to happen. And Thursday night showed that, well, it can.
