25. Carolina Panthers: Deionte Thompson, S Alabama

The Carolina Panthers would be ecstatic if the draft played out this way and a playmaker of Thompson’s caliber fell all the way to them at number twenty-five. Thompson is the type of safety who elevates a defense making plays all over the field. His talent level is probably greater than the twenty-fifth pick, but due to other players being a better fit he is still available towards the back of the first round and the Panthers get an absolute steal.

26. Oakland Raiders (from Chicago Bears): Anthony Johnson, WR Buffalo

The Raiders traded away their best receiver earlier this season to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for the pick they used to find their edge rusher of the future. Now it is time to replace Amari Cooper and provide Justin Herbert with a receiver to grow with. Anthony Johnson has all of the physical tools of a number one receiver but played at a smaller school similar to the Titans’ Corey Davis. Johnson is a boom or bust selection, but I like him enough to slate him in the first round.
