Melvin Ingram

The Chargers defense is still run by their middle linebacker, Melvin Ingram. Although he isn’t having the 100 tackle season he’s capable of, he’s still a rock in the middle of the field. Whether it’s finding the running back or the quarterback, Ingram is the name they count on.

Pittsburgh will have to deal with him all afternoon, but finding ways to shut him down is doable. They’ll need to look for blocking packages that close him out so James Conner can find running lanes up the middle.

He’s an X-factor against any team, especially one who likes to run up the gut. Conner vs Ingram will be a fun matchup to watch, and seeing how the Steelers utilize their athletic offensive line to block him will be even more interesting.
